How, you may ask, in this day and age can I claim that your submissions to just2hoursleft.com are confidential?  I can say with complete honesty that nobody, not even myself (the moderator for just2hoursleft.com) has any idea who you are (and subsequently I have no way to contact you back). How is this possible?  Let me explain:

Submission@just2hoursleft.com is an email address that is immediately forwarded to a blogger.com email address at the server level.  The blogger.com address it is forwarded to immediately places the text and title of the email into a moderation que for posting to the blog where it awaits for me to manually post.  These two steps strip away any identifiable sender information before it ever reaches our site.  You can say whatever you want with complete confidence!  Of course, I retain the right not to post it if it is crude, illegal or offends my sense of morality...so please don't just send whatever you want. Think about it and let us know- what would you do if you had just 2 hours left?

Then I would like to donate some of my savings to the Destitudes and to the Orphanage Institute.I would also visit my girlfriend to console her and request her to forgive me for leaving her alone in this rude world despite all of my promises. If I only had 2 hours to live for certain, I would drink as many bottles of Port or Sherry as I would enjoy, and go to sleep and not wake up. I would forgive my wife for driving me to attempt to commit suicide (and failed, obviously, as otherwise I would not be writing this now). I would forgive my sons for saying they wished they had a different Dad and writing me insulting letters at the prompting and encouragement of my wife and poisonous sponginge dole-scrounging stepdaughter, the latter being one that I will never forgive even at death's door. Neither will I ever fogive the Yobs that molested me when I was an 8 year old boy in the local park in London, 50 years ago. I still resent that they got away with it, I hope they are burning in hell. I would forgive God for never revealing himself to me despite the longing for a higher authority than the fucking maggots that rule our lives in the guise of being our leaders and servants. I am not sure if I can ever forgive myself for a wasted life, but then being recently diagnosed as having Asperger Syndrome, at least there is a reason (if not an excuse) why I accomplished nothing of note, despite Honours Degrees in most of the Sciences and a high IQ.

If I only had two hours to live, I would call everyone I know and tell them I love them and tell them good bye. I would try to personalize each good bye. I would take a very slow walk all around my home and look at every material thing I was blessed to have owned. Before I got all emotionally messed up from calling loved ones to say goodbye, I'd make a video on my phone of all my final arrangements (or a message about where my Will and keys could be found, what to do with my pets, where my car is parked, etc..) and send that off to whomever I believed I could trust to follow through with my instructions. Obviously, if my phone did not have video capabilities...or if my battery was dead....then I guess I'd have to ask people around me if someone could record it for me and send it to someone.

Gosh, this is morbid. In the letter I'd tell him how often the plants like to be watered and that it's ok if he gets rid them, rather that than they die too. I'd tell him that he should definatly re-marry because he's a really awesome husband and that it was really fun and lovely being his wife.

There's several things I'd like to do or imagine myself doing. However, knowing my personality, I would probably go hug and cuddle my cat. I would probably talk to him and tell him that I love him. When I make certain sounds and purrs to him, he actually responds back to me, so I would do this too. No, I have tried to live my life without regrets so do not feel there is anyone I need to forgive (or vice versa). Would probably call my kids a few close friends to tell them how much I love them and how much they have meant to me. Then probably get a good bottle of wine and smoke a joint.

I would sit at the kitchen table and get pleasantly drunk talking to my four kids and texting my three good friends. I may even call them. I know it sounds ridiculous, but I would go through my personal property and throw out all of the adult material I have (some tapes and DVDs) because I would not want anyone I love to see that stuff when they go through my personal belongings. I would also write a general letter to everyone I know telling them I love them and to soldier on with their lives. The letter would be general because I wouldn't have the time to write specific notes in two hours. I would also take some quick steps to make sure someone would take care of my cat. I couldn't die without knowing someone would take him in.

I would reach out to my brother and make sure that he knew I loved him deep down, in spite of the things he's done to my parents due to his drug addiction. I would make love to my wife, and tell my children how much I love them.

Logline:

A young woman riding a bus finds out that she has just 2 hours left to live. Having no one to turn to, she clings onto the only person available- the stranger sitting next to her.
